Come and help during the annual shearing of the many alpacas at Fox Wire Farm in Toano! This annual event helps prepare the alpacas for the summer months by shedding their wool. Fun fact: alpaca wool is 10 times warmer than sheep's wool. Can you imagine having that on during the summer months?

You must RSVP to attend this event by calling 757-218-4520.

The shearers will be coming in from New Zealand to help with this event again this year and there will be shearing tours (as we did last year) for the local community.

Fox Wire Farm (FWF) is made up of approximately 200 acres of farmland, pastureland, woods, creeks and is the home to some of the happiest alpacas around. The farm is situated on its own peninsula at the end of a mile long private road. FWF is proud to claim the highest elevation in the entire county at just over 100' above sea level!
